We lost another of our own overnight, I just got word from a co-worker. Our sweet, dear Callie went to Rainbow Bridge sometime during the night.
Callie'd been at the practice since I started there, in fact had been there since she was quite young, I believe. She was quiet, sweet, non-confrontational and, therefore, a favorite. When she was young, it was determined that she had a liver shunt and had surgery to correct it - at the time, it was cutting-edge surgery, a brand-new technique. In later years, Callie developed hyper-thyroidism for which she was being treated.
We don't know what happened, but Callie was "white as a sheet" so she was losing blood someplace. She wasn't anemic in July when we last did bloodwork.
Awww, sweetie, we'll miss you so. And so will Nellie.
