Welcome to Scraps By Oreo's Meow. If you've arrived here to take a look at what I can do for your precious photos through Scrap For Hire, please visit the "My Pages" section, in the sidebar located to the right. Thank you for stopping by!

Gallery of Scraps

This page shows some of the digital scraps I've done over the past several years.  Hopefully, these images will show you the range of what can be done with digital scrapping, and give you some idea of what you might like YOUR finished page or album to look like!

When you click on the thumbnail, a new window will open with a photo album.  Simply close the window when you're done viewing the images.

It's divided into seven sections:

Albums

This first album is part of the album I did to commemorate my mom's and my first holiday cruise to the Caribbean in 2009.  As you can see, each page uses the identical elements, colors and writing style to form a cohesive look.  However, the entire album has pages from each port of call, and each grouping is visually different.  For example, the pages showing the Christmas decorations on board ship all use Christmas colors and elements.  I wanted the person viewing the album to know that they were moving from one port of call to the next, and to visually separate shipboard pages from the others.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

This album is of cats from my job (I used to work for a vet).  They're all different colors and different fonts and elements have been used, but the style is the same throughout - minimalist in style, and each page tells its own story.

Cats from Work

This album that follows is an example of what a typical photo album might look like - somewhat disjointed, adding pages of photos as they happen, different styles, different subjects, and so on.  These cats are my own (bless their little hearts, they never dreamed they'd be "published"!), and the pages are in chronological order (more or less!).

My Babies

So, as you can see, a digital scrapbook album can take many forms - similar to a typical photo album with all kinds of looks on each page...cohesive as to style, look, and color...or cohesive as to subject and style, but not much else.  And the choice is yours as to the look you'd like to have!

People

These were created as individual, stand-alone pages, and therefore, the look is quite different from page to page as to style and artistry.  Some tell a story in words, some do not and tell a story just with the photos used and the way they're scrapped.

Memorials

Since I worked for a vet, I had access to a ton of animal photos.  The first four pages in this series of Memorial Pages were created as stand-alone pages to commemorate the passing of a particular animal or, in the case of the fourth page, all the resident cats we lost at work in 2010.  As you can see, memorial pages can be solemn, somewhat fun, include multiple photos in a collage style, or, for Bradley's page, include a cut-out photo of his favorite toy. To read "The Rainbow Bridge" and an alternative version, "A Dark Day At Rainbow Bridge", as well as to learn more about Bradley, please check out Brad's page.

After the collage, the next pages were created as sets.  The first commemorates Seth's life and includes a page with the lovely poem, The Rainbow Bridge.  The second commemorates Zhang Miao's life and tells the story of how he came to his human in China.

And lest you think I only scrap memorials for animals, the last page was created for the first anniversary of my Dad's passing.  He was a pilot for all his life and I incorporated a photo of him in the cockpit of his own airplane, an image of the aircraft he flew professionally, and the poem and image from his memorial program.

Places

All created as stand-alone pages, many are from my mom's and my cruises together and some are from my "formative" years, LOL!  Clearly, the styles vary widely, some being very "traditional" in look and others being very artistic.

Animals

I LOVE scrapping animals!  That's how I got started in digital scrapbooking, scrapping my Oreo's album.  Here are some samples of dogs and cats I've done for rescue groups, from work, and from my ScrapbookFlair friends.  They range from very traditional looking to very artistic.

Awareness

Having worked for a vet, I'm very cognizant of animal issues, ranging from abuse to TNR to adopting shelter pets.  Here are some pages that I've done in an effort to bring awareness to these issues.  If you have a cause that's important to you, that would be something I could scrap for you, or even design a poster that would be appropriate.

"Scrapped Twice"

These are examples of how the same image could be scrapped entirely differently, depending on what you're looking for.

The first set is of my mom, in Bonaire, relaxing after a hard hour or so shopping, LOL!

These two pages are of various scenery on Kauai, Hawaii.  The first page shows each photo as it appears without enhancement or other changes.  The second page shows the same photos, each with a different artistic treatment.

This last page has the same waterfall scrapped four different ways, with various blend and transparency techniques.
